When I’m not on the sidelines cheering on my kids, I work in community outreach and marketing supporting small nonprofits and businesses. I’m excited for a fun season and can’t wait to cheer on the Hawks!

My husband Kirk and I have just celebrated our 1th year anniversary and we live in Urbana with our two amazing kids. Jackson will be entering the 6th grade in the fall while Autumn will be going into 4th. Jackson and Autumn also have big brother Aidan as a wonderful role model to look up to.
Kirk also coaches Jackson's football team with the Urbana Youth Football program. When we aren't shuttling the kids around and volunteering, I work as a broker and also teach Pilates at the local TONED studio, and Kirk heads a commercial real estate firm located in Montgomery and Frederick Counties.

Hi! I’m Jane, and I am a mother to four awesome kids - Kingston (15), Jaxon (13), Callie (10), and Evie (4). My husband, Zac, and I moved our family to Urbana from northern VA in the fall of 2021, and our only regret is not moving here sooner. We couldn’t be happier here in this community! Zac & I also own and operate Coburn Electric, LLC, and we have been fortunate to meet so many wonderful neighbors through this.
Callie & I are both returning for our 4th year of cheer, and we couldn’t be more excited to see old friends and meet new ones! Please reach out if you have any questions!

I know our team is going to have so much fun, learn some new skills, and make some great new friends along the way. Get excited! Go Hawks!
JV D1 Coaches
My name is Gretchen and I am so excited to be coaching cheerleading this fall. I grew up in Urbana and cheered for ten years including for Urbana high school. I have three daughters that keep me busy and a wonderful “girl dad” husband who helps make all things possible.
I look forward to spending time in the best community to help the girls learn skills, make new friends, believe in themselves, and spread cheer
Varsity Coaches
Growing up not too far from Urbana, I began cheering at a young age, continued throughout high school and that passion for cheer has stayed with me ever since. Coaching since 2017, I truly enjoy helping young athletes grow in confidence, learn the importance of teamwork, while having fun along the way. When I’m not coaching Mollie, my rising 8th grader heading to Varsity you can usually find me on the sidelines cheering just as loudly for my other two—Teagan, a rising 3rd grader who loves poms and cheer, and Gage, a rising 2nd grader getting ready for his first tackle football season. I know how much these experiences matter, and I’m all about creating a positive, supportive environment where kids can thrive!
Hi! I’m Heather Schroeder, and my husband, Sam, and I are parents to 2 amazing kids - James (16) and Delilah (6). Sam and I both grew up in Urbana and attended UHS (‘99 & ‘00–Go Hawks!). I have taught in FCPS for 22 years, but this is my 1st year coaching cheer! I am excited to team up with Stephani this year to guide our youngest flag girls! I am looking forward to spending time in the community we have loved our entire lives and helping our flag girls learn new skills, make new friends, and have fun! One Team One Urbana! Go Hawks!
Hi! I’m Gabbie and this will be my first year coaching the Hawks! I grew up cheering and dancing in Poolesville and I’m looking forward to a great season!

Coach Sara is a mom of two and an elementary teacher who brings patience, positivity, and a love of learning to the cheer mat. With four years of cheer coaching experience—including two years in Indiana —she is a positive leader committed to helping athletes build strong skills while also fostering meaningful peer relationships. Hi! I'm Juli and I am a Maryland native, having lived in Montgomery County my whole life until making the move to Urbana in 2010. My husband and I have two children, Lincoln (13), and Evelyn (11). This will be my 5th year coaching and my 3rd year as commissioner. I’m excited to be teaming up with Jamie and Mary Ellen for another fantastic season with our JVD2 squad!
My name is Mary Ellen, and I am so excited to help coach JVD2 this year. I was a cheerleader for six years growing up and was often awarded "Most Spirited" on my squad. I'm pumped to bring that same enthusiasm to JVD2 as we cheer on the Hawks! My daughter, Scarlet, will be cheering this year for her 6th season.
Hi! I’m Michelle Ingram and I am the mother of two daughters: Emma (12) and Grace (9), both of whom are a part of the cheer program. My family and I have lived in Urbana for 16 years and I am so excited to be returning as a coach again this year! Go Hawks!
My name is Tracy Hayat and this will be my 12th year coaching cheer and my 13th year being a part of the Urbana Rec (URC) Family. All 4 of my children have/are in the URC programs. My oldest (Sophie) is a senior and now does HS sports. I also have a 10th grader (Aliyah), 5th grade footballer (Zayden) and a 8th grader cheerleader (Aria). Growing up I loved to dance and participated in youth cheer and poms. Thank you for this opportunity to not only be involved in my daughter’s cheer experience, but yours as well. I’m looking forward to another great season!! GO Hawks!!
My love for cheerleading dates back to my early childhood where I cheered in Damascus from 2nd grade until my senior year of high school! I have lived in Urbana for 11 years now and have two daughters, Kylie (13) and Lucca (10)! When Kylie asked to join cheer, I was given the opportunity to jump back into the cheer world as a coach and it was the best decision ever! To coach these amazing young athletes alongside the dedicated, loving and passionate coaching team is something I feel very lucky to be a part of! It is also incredibly special being able to experience this with my daughters, life really has come full circle since my elementary days in rec cheerleading! I am so excited to begin another fun, memorable season with the best Cheer Family!! LETS GO HAWKS!
