Introducing URC Youth Volleyball: Fall 2026!
Following the incredible response to our community interest survey, Urbana Recreation Council (URC) is thrilled to officially launch our brand-new Youth Volleyball Program this upcoming Fall season! Our mission is to provide a fun, instructional, and competitive environment right here in Urbana. Whether your athlete is a seasoned player looking to sharpen their skills or a total beginner eager to learn the game, there is a place for them on the court.
Program Highlights
- Who It’s For: Girls entering 3rd through 8th grade for the 2026-2027 school year (divisions will be organized by grade level).
- The Format: This is a 100% local, all-Urbana league. Teams will be formed internally, meaning all practices and games will happen right here in our community—no heavy travel required!
- Weekly Commitment: Teams will practice 1 to 2 times per week, focusing on fundamental skills like serving, passing, setting, and teamwork.
- The Action: Instead of single weekly games, the season will culminate in a few high-energy "tournament-style" weekends throughout the fall, giving players a true competitive tournament experience!
Why Choose URC Volleyball?
We are committed to building a program that focuses equally on skill development and player enjoyment. Our volunteer coaches will emphasize the fundamentals of the game while fostering sportsmanship, confidence, and a lifelong love for the sport. Volunteers Needed! A great community program starts with great leaders. If you are interested in coaching, assistant coaching, or helping out on the court, please let us know during the registration process. No prior high-level volleyball experience is required—just enthusiasm and a desire to support our athletes!
