About Our Program
The Urbana Recreation Council Lacrosse Organization was formed to allow those living in the Urbana High School feeder area a platform to begin developing relationships and building teams that will be successful throughout their years in our school system. Age groups are available for Pre-K through 8th grade.
The URC Lax Organization is a volunteer based organization and would not be possible without the devoted community members who selflessly give of their time to provide an environment of enjoyment and education for our young athletes. Our goal is to allow players to build relationships with their teammates and learn to love the game. We base our success off the number of athletes who return to play the following year, not wins and losses. Keeping our youth Hawks together from an early age has proven success through our State Championship high school program.

Club or Rec Lacrosse? We say Both!
One of the questions we receive regularly revolves around club players. Many of our teams have boys or girls who play a full club schedule and a full rec schedule, we encourage it!! In fact, we have several local club lacrosse coaches who volunteer and coach with our program each year.
Players on the club level are preparing themselves for the future by competing on teams that give them the opportunity to play year round, at a more competitive level, with athletes from across our region.
Our area boasts some of the top club programs in the country and we had over 50 club lacrosse players playing for our URC program spring 2023.
Playing with your local rec program in spring allows you to play with the teammates you will play with through your high school career.
Our goal is to provide an opportunity for the athletes in our community to play together and develop strong relationships with the teammates they will have in High School. The premise of the URC Lacrosse program is to prepare all athletes in the Urbana feeder area to play at a high level together for many years.
If you are concerned your club schedule will interfere with the rec schedule, please reach out for better guidance as we do our best to ensure all who want to participate have the opportunity to do so.
